Buy.O Breakfast Event
NEW TALENT!
The New Purchasing Organization (part I)
Rotterdam, May 31, 2011
The world is changing rapidly. Talents are becoming scarcer and have changing demands. Technological evolutions and increasing volatility of consumer demands force companies to change and constantly innovate. Meanwhile international competition and economic developments force companies to focus on cost and added value.
One of a company’s core capabilities hereto lies in its ability to design and manage a network of suppliers and strategic partners. In a series of three Breakfast Events, Buy.O is working with CPO’s of international groups on three essential themes that help to define hereto the New Purchasing Organization:
1. New Talent,
2. New Organizational Models, and
3. Strategic Relationship Management.
The first edition on New Talent confirmed that the War for Talent is not over. Now the economy is recovering, attracting, developing and retaining talent is of paramount importance.
In an informal and convivial breakfast setting 12 participants from international groups across very different sectors, worked with each other in an interactive and inspiring exchange. The key topics addressed were: What is the new profile of current and future buyers? How to attract external/internal talent? How to develop/train/coach to maximize the performance of talents? How to keep high
performing talents? This first event produced several practices in successfully managing talent for the New Purchasing Organization.
Please find attached the summary of the first edition on New Talent.
