How attractive is the Procurement Function? Buy.O Group and the “Lettre des Achats” are on the detective trail!

In a time of economic uncertainty and a war for talents, it is essential to attract, recruit and keep the best of the best. This involves every department in the company and, in particular, the procurement department. Indeed, the role of procurement has been developing over the past few years (with new responsibilities and broader range of activities) and needs to attract and develop new talent to carry out its missions. However, this function seems to be plagued by a lack of visibility which could damage its appeal.

- How is procurement perceived within companies?
- What specific aspects of procurement are decisive for those who choose to pursue a career within this sector?
- Which of buyers' tasks are considered to be the most enjoyable and conversely which are the least appealing?

The survey Buy.O is carrying out in collaboration with the French business review La Lettre des Achats aims at answering these questions. In addition, this survey will highlight some key elements of the appeal of the procurement function.

Aimed at a very wide audience, this survey will provide a comparative analysis of the different types of respondents:

1 - Students, some of which are pursuing a career in procurement
2 - Professionals working in the fields of procurement or supply chain management
3 - Professionals from other departments within companies

The main findings will be published both in LDA and on our website. Shortly afterwards, a round-table discussion will be held with CPOs to get their point of view on the results.
